Nov 2nd revision: Abby has basically retired and with that said changes have their way into modern business as they should. Yesterday a 30 second "evaluation" on a broke crown cost me $90 ( no insurance ) . Truthfully I could have stayed home and saved money until I was ready to spend the money for the replacement, Lesson learned.THE ONE.. THE ONLY.. THE LEGEND..ABBY. I cannot say enough good things about this man as a dentist and person one small paragraph. He has worked on my and my family’s mouth through the worst finical times of my life and has always made sure I’ve revived proper dental care at reasonable rates. Am I biased a little,?? heck ya and proud of it. Looking forward to my next visit.

I'm very happy with my experiences. My hygienist is gentle while thorough. I've been fortunate not to need anything major done, but when I do, I completely trust in the competency of both Dr. Horwitz & Dr. Dorfman. One of the reasons I moved to this practice was tiring of seeing a dentist that was constantly trying to "find" work that 'needed' to be done. This practice doesn't operate that way.

This was my first visit to the Art of Dentistry. Glad it will not be my last. Wonderful experience from calling for an appointment and then check in- very friendly, informative and at front desk was met with a smiling face. Jenny as my Hygienist was a great experience, She explained EVERYTHING and her technique was perfect! Dr. Dorfman-He was through and patient- did not seem to be rushed. He explained everything. The biggest thing that impressed me was that I was not being sold. My last experience with a dentist was that everytime I came in I was being sold on product or services.I highly recommend this practice.

I have gone to this practice since 1980. I highly recommend it. All of my friends use these dentists as well. They are simply outstanding. They also give back to the community. One dentist participated in Operation Smile with his staff and other charities like that. He went to underprivileged countries and did dental work to help children with open cleft deformities. They are so knowledgeable, friendly and professional. For years, they’ve won the newspaper’s Best at the Beach awards which are voted on by subscribers and residents. There’s a reason for that. They are the best!!!!!

I just got back from getting a crown at art of dentistry. I was helped by Dr Shuck and Brandi. First Of all I just cracked the tooth yesterday and they were able to get me in today. Then they completed the process in about 2 hours start to finish. They were WONDERFUL !!! Kind nice thorough and funny. It was a pleasure. How often do you hear that going to a dentist. Short wait time. They have a crown making machine and were able to make my bicuspid crown in 20 mins. I was able to see Darren Dorfman DDS and he told me what was possible. Within 2 hours I had a new crown. Amazing!

First off, check in was easy, wait time was next to nil and the services provided to me were exceptional. I have visited the dentistry on 4 occasions the past year, 2 exams, one cleaning, a molar extraction with bone graft and a follow up exam. I’ve waited until now to provide a review. The administrators, hygienists, equipment technicians and dentists have all been very professional and the results have mirrored the professionalism. I saw Abby, the Dental Hygienist, for a checkup. It is always nice visiting with her. Dr Horwitz was actually there, but said he was part-time and going to be retiring soon. I will miss him! The service has been outstanding. They seem to be up on all the latest in dental care and procedures. I moved to The Art of Dentistry about a year ago and the care and knowledge received makes me regret not moving here long before I did.

Very clean, super friendly staff, and top notch care all the way around! I really like the fact that I have the same hygienist each visit. I have a lot of issues being taken care of, and as far as going to a dentist is concerned...this is by far the best it gets!

My Dentist for the past 43 years retired, and quite frankly, had been spoiled by the staff in his office. He referred me to Dr. Dorfman.I must admit there was a little anxiety as I drove to my first visit.The staff greeted me with a smile when I arrived, and were attentive. Dr. Dorfman and his dental assistant, Kristy, were amazing !I left feeling like I had known them both for years. I highly recommend The Art of Dentistry ! Great practice, great people !

I have gone to this practice since 1980. I highly recommend it. All of my friends use these dentists as well. They are simply outstanding. They also give back to the community. One dentist participated in Operation Smile with his staff and other charities like that. He went to underprivileged countries and did dental work to help children with open cleft deformities. They are so knowledgeable, friendly and professional. For years, they’ve won the newspaper’s Best at the Beach awards which are voted on by subscribers and residents. There’s a reason for that. They are the best!!!!!

I just got back from getting a crown at art of dentistry. I was helped by Dr Shuck and Brandi. First Of all I just cracked the tooth yesterday and they were able to get me in today. Then they completed the process in about 2 hours start to finish. They were WONDERFUL !!! Kind nice thorough and funny. It was a pleasure. How often do you hear that going to a dentist. I thank Art of dentistry and most of all Dr Shuck and Brandi who are head of the class. Kudos to both of you and thank you for all your hard work

I love everything about this dental practice! I've had the pleasure of seeing each of the dentists. Drs. Dorfman, Shuck, and Horwitz are so personable, professional and thorough. They make me feel like they have all the time in the world for me and never leave the room without making sure all of my questions are answered.My dental hygienist, Abby R., is awesome! Her patient care and patient education are above-and-beyond. I learn important, helpful info. at every appointment. She is speedy AND thorough - a great combo of skills!

I absolutely love the Art of Dentistry! I have been coming here since I retired from the Navy in 2009 and my son went here his entire life until he got his own insurance. They are wonderful, friendly, thorough and professional. Oh, and punctual!! I had an appt yesterday and my hygienist apologized for being late (she was 2 min late for our appt!). I would highly recommend this establishment.

Dr. Horwitz and Dr. Dorfman are fantastic dentists and I strongly recommend them, especially for anyone with sensitive teeth. Ms George is my dental hygienist and she is equally fantastic and together they make great team! I’ve been to another office in the area but switched to The Art of Dentistry a few years ago and haven’t looked back. If you are in the Virginia Beach area The Art of Dentistry is the place to go!

Short wait time. They have a crown making machine and were able to make my bicuspid crown in 20 mins. I was able to see Darren Dorfman DDS and he told me what was possible. Within 2 hours I had a new crown. Amazing!

First off, check in was easy, wait time was next to nil and the services provided to me were exceptional. I have visited the dentistry on 4 occasions the past year, 2 exams, one cleaning, a molar extraction with bone graft and a follow up exam. I’ve waited until now to provide a review. The administrators, hygienists, equipment technicians and dentists have all been very professional and the results have mirrored the professionalism. I’m super satisfied with this office and all its staff.

I saw Abby, the Dental Hygienist, for a checkup. It is always nice visiting with her. Dr Horwitz was actually there, but said he was part-time and going to be retiring soon. I will miss him! He has been the best over the many years! I will be seeing Dr Shuck on my next visit and look forward to meeting him. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a great dentist!

Dr. Dorfman and his staff are the best. My son had two cavities filled yesterday. He was really nervous and apprehensive. They reassured him and fixed him right up. Our while family goes to the Art of Dentistry- the hygienists are the best. They are great for both kids and adults! Highly recommend!

This practice is second to none. Their facility is state of the art, the staff is as friendly as they are skilled, and they are always attentive to my dental needs. During my last cleaning, I mentioned that it felt like I had a bony growth on the inside of my jaw to the hygienist. Next thing I know, Dr. Shuck made time to come do a full exam and deal with it. World class.

Drs Horwitz, Dorfman and Shuck always treat their patients with kindness, compassion and respect. Their staff is knowledgeable and efficient. I am a fearful dental patient and Dr Dorfman does a wonderful job putting me at ease. I’m usually on a tight schedule & can count on being seen on time. They have all the modern technology! No more oooey goooey impressions or sharp edged X-ray films. It’s all digital now. They even do Invisalign and cosmetic work. This office can meet your entire family’s dental needs.

Best dentist ever!!Having bad luck with dentists and moving around a lot I had the pleasure of coming across Dr.Dorfman and his staff in 2015, in addition to pleasant service I decided to have a large cosmetic procedure done and it was well worth it.Dr.Dorfman changed my life!, and changed it for the better, Jenny , my hygienist is also beyond skilled and good at her job, helps that she loves it so much.I’m writing this as I visit Virginia Beach, I have driven up from Florida and made it a point to schedule a cleaning and this time living in Vermont I literally flew down just to see Dr.Forman for a repair and cleaning as I don’t trust the quality and care of other dentists.Beyond words how awesome this team is.Thank you!!!
