Dental Crowns in a Day.
Let’s begin by imagining you arriving at your next dentist appointment. Your teeth sensitive and riddled with cavities. You may also have a few empty spaces punctuated by sore gums. Then, let’s imagine leaving that appointment with a beautiful teeth!
CEREC® stands for: Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (or CEREC® for short) is a new state-of-the-art method of reconstructing tooth restorations.
How does it work?
First, we begin by using a computer-assisted design (CAD) Program. Then, we use a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) machine to build the tooth. As a result, our Dentists are able to offer single-day restorations. So you don’t have to wait between preparing the restoration and repairing the tooth. What’s more, we do everything while you are sitting in the dental chair. As a result, you save time and money. The restorations are metal-free and tooth colored. Therefore, your tooth will be restored to its natural beauty, strength and function. With CEREC®’s CAD-CAM technology, ceramic restorations can all be done in a single visit.
Same Day Crowns Process
We use CAD-CAM technology to design and mill custom restorations in one visit.
First, We Perform an Exam and Preparation
Before you get started, we will determine if CEREC® is right for you. To begin with, it will depend on how much healthy tooth structure you have remaining. Then it may be a simple filling or you may need a ceramic crown. After reviewing your options, the dentist will begin administering anesthetic. Then they will prepare your tooth for restoration by removing decay and weakened tooth tissue.
Second, We Create Optical Impression
We begin by making a 3D image of the tooth that needs to be restored. We’ll use a digital camera to scan the tooth. This 3D image will be used to create the restoration. So that we will not need to take a messy impression. What’s more, you won’t need the horrible tasting impression material.
Third, We Use The Milling Unit
We use a milling unit to make the custom piece for the tooth. Then, based on the original tooth color we select the correct colored ceramic block. Then the milling device makes the restoration.
Finally, We Place the Restoration
After the restoration is made we ensure that you get proper fit and bite. After fitting, the restoration is polished and bonded into place. Therefore, no temporary restoration is needed. Also no return trip is necessary. So this process saves you time and money.
